Capsule Geology

The Copper occurrence is located south of the Tsezakwa River on the eastern slope of Netalzul Mountain, 54 kilometres east of the community of Hazelton.

The area is underlain by Cretaceous volcanic rocks of the Kasalka Group, informally called the French Peak volcanics (Geological Survey of Canada Open File 2322), in fault contact with sedimentary strata of the Lower Jurassic Hazelton Group and the Upper Jurassic Bowser Lake Group. Eocene Babine Plutonic Suite intrusive rocks also occur in the area.

No information is available on the Copper showing but it is inferred to be disseminated chalcopyrite in intrusive rocks.

In 2012, soil and silt sampling were completed in the area of the Copper showing (Assessment Report 33499). No sampling or prospecting appears to have been done along drainages in the Copper showing area. An airborne magnetic survey was flown over the Silver Vista claim block on behalf of Amarc Resources Ltd. for a total of 4729 line-kilometres at a spacing of 200 metres; this airborne survey included the Copper showing area (Assessment Report 33499). In 2013, a geochemical survey was conducted over select parts of the large Silver Vista property, which covers the MR (093M 195) and Copper occurrences. A total of 674 soil samples and 166 rock samples were collected; the areas sampled did not cover the Copper occurrence location (Assessment Report 35060).

See MR (093M 195) for details of the Silver Vista property and work done on that property which included the Copper showing area.
